Beginner’s Guide to Crystal Grids

What is a crystal grid?
Simply, a crystal grid is a specific arrangement and pattern of crystals and/or stones to amplify energy for a set intention. As a result, the intention becomes more powerful which allows for an easier manifestation to happen.
Sacred Geometry
In order to understand crystal grids, it is important to get a grasp on sacred geometry. To explain further, crystals grids are designed with the shapes and patterns of sacred geometry in mind. Basically, sacred geometry is the mathematical equations that make up the Universe as well as the dimensions, universes, and galaxies beyond Earth. To clarify further, sacred geometry refers to the shapes and patterns you regularly see in nature. Since ancient times, many mystics have studied and decoded these shapes in order to explain every facet and aspect of the Universe. Think of these shapes as how the spiritual and the physical worlds meet. Essentially, sacred geometry is the language of the Universe. Thus, combining different crystal energies and placing them in specific patterns will create a powerfully clear communication line with the universe. As a result, intentions become clear for the universe to understand and ultimately manifest.
Components of a crystal grid
The crystals used in a grid are carefully picked to create a harmonious relationship between the energies, shapes, and colors of each crystal. There are 5 components to a crystal grid: The Focus Stone, The Way Stones, The Desire Stones, the Path, and the Visual.
The Focus Stone
The Focus Stone is the crystal or stone that is located in the center of the grid. Its purpose is to channel and amplify the source energy.
For the Focus Stone, use a crystal or stone that will channel in the type of energy required for your intention. For example, if your grid purpose is for abundance, you could use a Green Goldstone as it channels just that!
The Way Stones
The Way Stones immediately surround the Focus Stone. This layer further amplifies and hones in on the energy and power flowing through the grid.
For the Way Stones, use crystals or stones that best embodies the intention you are working with. For example, if your grid purpose is for abundance, you could use Pyrite as it amplifies good luck and is a symbol of money.
The Desire Stones
The Desire Stones are the outermost stones on a grid. This layer gives the channeled energy it’s final filter and tunes it to the desired outcome of the grid.
For the Desire Stones, use crystals or stones that would be used on its own to manifest the intention. For example, if your grid purpose is for abundance, you could use Citrine as it attracts success!
The Path
The Path is the lines of energy flowing through the grid. These lines guide the energy from the Focus Stone, through the Way Stones, then to the Desire Stones.
The Visual
Crystal grids are enriched by both design and color patterns. Because of this, grids should be built on a Visual or sacred geometry. For example, if your desire is improved health, use a sacred geometrical shape that represents health. Below is the “Seed of Life” shape which is a basic Visual that can be used for ALL intentions.
Using The Crystal Grid
The Wand
To activate the grid, you must use some type of wand. Wands are used to direct the flow of energy throughout the grid. As well as to allow yourself and your intentions to connect to The Path.
Here are a few options for your wand:
- A small twig from a tree. Bonus if the twig is from a tree with magical properties similar to the purpose of the grid.
- A crystal or several attached to the end of a stick. Quartz crystal is generally used for this purpose. However, you can use what you feel called to.
- Your index finger.
Meditate
Lastly, meditate on the crystal grid. Relax, close your eyes and breathe. Pull in the energy from the universe and allow it to circulate through the tip of your wand. Visualize that energy traveling to the Focus Stone, then activating the Way Stones, then finally connecting with the Desire Stones. Follow the Path and the Visuals with your wand to guide all the energy to flow together. Continue for as long as you feel you need to. Slowly come back and connect with the feeling of having received your intention.
