First and foremost, if you aren’t familiar with chakras here is a quick explanation!

To break it down, the Sanskrit word Chakra means wheel or disk. In spirituality, this term refers to wheels of spiritual energy located throughout the body. There are seven chakra points aligned along the spine. Starting from the base of the spine and going up to the crown of the head. It is believed that chakras reflect how consciousness is divided to manage different aspects of life. For instance, each chakra emits a different energy frequency that is in direct correlation to your organ function, immune system, and emotions. Therefore, being aware and in tune with your chakras can drastically change your overall health and wellness.

First and foremost, the third eye chakra is the 6th chakra and is located on your forehead between your eyebrows. This chakra is associated with the color indigo and the element of light. This chakra is important as it links your mind to the outer world. As a result, it controls how you perceive all situations and people. When your third eye is opened, your intuition, wisdom, and ability to reflect are strong, balanced, and aligned.

The most popular sense connected to the third eye is intuition.

Intuition is your ability to understand something immediately, without the need for conscious reasoning. Think of it this way, when you are intuitive you are in sync with your “gut feeling”.

wisdom

Secondly, an open and balanced third eye attracts wisdom and insight.

Wisdom is your ability to look into situations and people in order to interpret the true meaning and/or intentions. Wisdom doesn’t always come with age as it can also come with alignment.

reflection

Lastly, reflection is another great sense of awareness attained with a balanced third eye.

Being able to self reflect or self examine is a special gift that most do not. When you are capable of self-reflection it means you are able to look at yourself as a whole and be consciously aware of your being.

Creative visualization is a mindfulness exercise used to promote manifestation. This technique requires the use of visualizing what you want and experiencing the emotions and feelings you would have if it were your reality.

First, visualize an indigo spinning ball of energy located at your third eye. While this ball of light is active, connect with feelings of inner knowledge. All the while, stay open to receiving gifts of strong intuition, wisdom and the ability to reflect. Simply, allow those gifts to flow right into your third eye energy source.

affirmations

Simply, affirmations are phrases you say out loud or think to yourself. In detail, affirmation defined means the act of affirming. Hence, when you say or think a phrase over and over again you are affirming that it is true. 

As a result, using affirmations is a wonderful way to ignite feelings related to your third eye. Use affirmations such as, “I am wise, intuitive, and connected with my inner guidance”, “I see the truth in all situations”, and “I am aware and connected with my higher self”.

To some, crystals are just beautiful rocks and stones to look at or to decorate with. However, what many people don’t know is that they carry powerful energy and when used correctly can aid your spiritual wellbeing in the utmost positive way.

Simply, place, wear, meditate with or have crystals near that empower your third eye. Crystals such as Amethyst, Sodalite, and Lapis Lazuli are excellent to use and are my personal favorite.

eat the right food

What you eat has a huge impact on how you feel, this is a known fact – shitty foods are going to make you feel sluggish and drained while fresh healthy food makes you feel energized. What many people don’t know is that the food you eat also contributed to the health of your chakras. For a healthy and balanced third eye chakra add in more purple foods such as: grapes, eggplant, purple kale, blueberries, purple sweet potatoes and blackberries . Also, add to your diet “brain food” high in omega 3 like salmon, walnuts and avocado.
