5 Things To Do In The Morning For a Productive Day

Staying in a nice comfy bed is definitely more appealing than getting up and going about life but unfortunately, we all have shit to do. Accomplishing these 5 tasks in the morning is a great way to start the day and be productive!

5 things to do to have a more productive day!

1. practice gratitude

Gratitude is the emotion of being thankful, showing appreciation, and returning kindness. Being grateful is a beautiful and harmonious way to live as it attracts more love, happiness, and abundance into your life. When you are grateful it opens up your eyes and heart to acknowledge your blessings. Starting your day with gratitude is a bad-ass way to set the vibe!

Every morning before you get out of bed say what you are grateful for and fully feel the emotions that come with it. It is important to vocalize your gratitude as hearing yourself say what you feel attracts a more powerful feeling. All it takes is 3 minutes – that’s it so there shouldn’t be any fucking excuse to not do this!

2. nourish your body

Your physical well-being is extremely important to take care of! Simply, eat healthily and exercise daily to show your body some much-needed TLC. I know some of you are rolling your eyes so let me explain why this is important. Your body loves you so much…you can literally keep it going for a long ass time with shitty food, stress, no sleep, etc. and it will work overtime to keep you alive and kicking. It is so important to show your body that you appreciate all it does and give it love by cleaning up your diet and keeping active. Kicking your day off by doing some light exercise and having a nutritious breakfast is great motivation for a productive, positive, and peaceful day!

This doesn’t take as much effort as you think. For example, I go on a simple 30-minute walk around my neighborhood then do 7-10 minutes of strengthening exercises. After my workout, I have a nice big green smoothie packed with spinach, berries, chia seeds, chocolate protein powder, cinnamon, and nut milk. Easy and fast! I get sunlight, exercise, and nutrients within an hour of waking up…try it!

3. meditate or ground yourself

Meditation is a mental exercise that strengthens your awareness, mindfulness, and higher consciousness – all the things you want to seize at the beginning of the day! Typically, meditation is practiced to help deepen the understanding of life and its transcendent forces. Meditation can also be practiced to reduce stress, relieve anxiety, and improve emotional wellbeing. Regular practice of meditation has been scientifically proven to reduce age-related memory loss, help fight addictions, improve sleep, help control pain, and decrease blood pressure. Just 5 minutes every morning…do it right after morning gratitude while you are still in bed – it doesn’t matter when you do it just fucking do it!

If you don’t like meditation then grounding is the next best thing! Simply put, the spiritual term grounding refers to energetically connecting to the earth so that you feel safe and at ease. In detail, grounding is a technique that guides the connection and alignment with yourself and mother nature which brings a sense of safety and calm. As a result, being properly grounded increases your mental, physical and emotional health.

4. make your bed

There is a reason every self-help book across the board recommends doing this…it fucking works! Doing your bed before you start your day brings you a sense of accomplishment and that “I got my shit together” type of vibe. It may be one small accomplishment but that’s just it – you accomplished it! This tiny victory motivates you for bigger victories throughout the day because you are conditioning your mind to be happy when ANYTHING gets accomplished. Try it before you knock it…before I started doing this I genuinely thought it was bullshit.

5. make a to-do list

Lastly, make a to-do list! There is something about checking off a to-do that makes you feel so productive and again it gives you that “I got my shit together” type of vibe. Writing a to-do list at the start of the day helps you to stay focused, productive, and calm. When you are scatterbrained it is hard to remember what needs to get done and the importance of each task so keeping a nice little list really does help to keep your ass in check.

final thoughts

If all this overwhelms you simply take it one step at a time. Incorporate one thing every week to help you ease into it and develop these habits easily and effortlessly. All it takes is a little bit of effort to be more productive – just fucking do it!
